Following the conclusion of its main narrative in South Korea, Piccoma has confirmed that a television anime adaptation is currently in production. The series, which originated as a web novel by Gwon Gyeoeul before being adapted into a hit webcomic by artist SUOL, has become a cornerstone of the reincarnated-villainess genre.
The story follows a protagonist who finds herself trapped in the body of Penelope Eckhart, a villainess in a brutal dating sim where every narrative path leads to her demise. Armed only with her knowledge of the game's mechanics, she must navigate a deadly social landscape to survive. The webtoon reached its milestone 214th chapter in July, though fans can look forward to a planned spinoff series once the creative team returns from a scheduled break.
With over 14.8 million views on Kakao Page, the series has maintained immense momentum since its 2020 debut. Its international footprint is equally significant, with Ize Press handling the English print releases and Tapas hosting the digital serialization. As the franchise prepares for its television debut, the 12th compiled volume of the manga is slated for release in Japan this November, further cementing its status as a powerhouse in the webtoon-to-anime pipeline.
