Ushiro no Shōmen Kamui-san (Kamui-san Directly Behind You), the TV anime adaptation of Eroki and Shinko Konoshiro's manga, is set to premiere in July 2026. The official website launched Tuesday, revealing a teaser promotional video, a key visual, and the main cast and staff.
Tomokazu Sugita takes on the role of Kamui, a handsome and skilled psychic known for his unconventional exorcism techniques. Riko Aono will voice Shizuka Mimitsuka, a girl with psychic abilities who becomes Kamui's assistant and decoy due to her susceptibility to supernatural possession. M.A.O joins the cast as Oichi, a tsukumogami bound to an antique Ichimatsu doll, who begins assisting Kamui in his exorcism business.
Additional cast members include Yuka Aisaka as Shizuka's classmate Kyōko, and Shiori Izawa as Inagawa, another classmate with an interest in the occult who doubts Kamui's abilities. The anime is being directed by Takumi Tsukumo at Studio Zero-G, with series scripts by Motofumi Nakajō and character designs by Toshinari Yamashita. Chihiro Endō is composing the music.
The story centers on Shizuka, a high school girl who can see ghosts, and her work assisting the eccentric psychic Kamui. The manga originally debuted on Shogakukan's Manga ONE app in March 2020, and its 12th compiled volume was released on February 19.
