At Crunchyroll's showcase during Anime Expo 2026, the upcoming television anime Fate Rewinder (Unmei no Makimodoshi) unveiled its main cast, additional production staff, and a teaser promotional video. The action sci-fi series, based on Fuuta Kimura's manga, is slated for an April 2027 premiere on TV Asahi's IMAnimation programming block.
The announced main cast features Shou Komura as Chrono, Kouki Uchiyama as Shirai, Kouhei Amasaki as Akaba, and Reina Ueda as Lemon. Behind the scenes, Rie Matsumoto is directing the adaptation at studio Bones, with Toshihiro Kawamoto handling character design. Kimiko Ueno will write the scripts, Satoshi Murai will compose the music, and STORY is credited for production. Bones Film is also involved in the production.
The original manga began as a one-shot in Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic in April 2021 before its serialization in Monthly CoroCoro Comic in January 2022. Shogakukan has published 12 volumes to date, with the latest released on April 28. Yen Press has licensed the manga for English release, with the first volume scheduled for October 27.
