Production house Twin Engine and retail giant Bandai have officially entered the digital publishing space with the launch of Bibibi Comic. The platform arrives as the first major fruit of a strategic partnership between the two companies, aimed at creating a closed-loop ecosystem that takes intellectual property from the initial manga stage through to animation and physical merchandise.

At launch, the service offers 33 titles, including notable works such as Sayaka Mogi’s Shibarikami and Koge Donbo’s Saitsu yo Akuyaku Reijō Saikyō Jūdō-ka no Kan Akuyaku Reijō to Naru. The platform utilizes a standard freemium model, allowing users to unlock chapters via earned tickets or by waiting for a 23-hour refresh cycle.

The venture is backed by a substantial 4 billion yen investment, signaling a long-term commitment to developing proprietary franchises. The division of labor is clear: Twin Engine is tasked with the creative planning, production, and distribution of anime adaptations, while Bandai leverages its massive infrastructure for product development, marketing, and global licensing.

By integrating these workflows, the companies intend to streamline the path from manga serialization to finished anime and consumer goods. While the platform is live, both companies have indicated that further details regarding their long-term roadmap and additional production initiatives will be shared in the coming months.
