The Tougen Anki anime is set to return for its next major installment, the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, on October 2. Ahead of the premiere, production company REMOW has unveiled a new promotional video and key visual, highlighting the high-stakes confrontation awaiting Shiki and his peers at the Rasetsu Academy. To prepare viewers for the new arc, two recap episodes covering the previous Kyoto and Nerima arcs will air on September 30 and October 1, respectively.
The expansion of the cast adds significant weight to the Momotaro Agency's presence in this arc. Kenichi Suzumura joins the production as Kusabi Momoura, the chief of the Kegon Falls branch, alongside Yūki Kaji as Hizumi Momotsugi and Kishō Taniyama as Senritsu Momoo. These additions join a previously announced roster that includes Gakuto Kajiwara as the Oni Brigade General Hayate Todoroki, setting the stage for a clash between the academy students and the agency's research facility.
Musical contributions for the arc have also been confirmed, with Hiromitsu Kitayama performing the opening theme, "Backlash," and the band TRACK15 providing the ending theme, "Hand in Hand." The series maintains its broad international distribution strategy, with the new arc scheduled to stream globally on platforms including Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Amazon Prime Video starting October 2 at 25:00 JST.
Based on Yura Urushibara's long-running manga, the series continues under the direction of Ato Nonaka at Studio Hibari. While the anime has maintained a consistent release schedule since its 2025 debut, the shift to the Nikko setting marks a departure from the urban environments of the Kyoto and Nerima arcs. With the manga currently spanning over 30 volumes, the transition to this facility-based mystery suggests a more contained, high-tension narrative focus for the upcoming season.
