Fuji TV is producing a live-action series adaptation of Kon Iguchi and Yūji Nakamura's Tonight, I Have a Date with a Serial Killer manga. The series is set to premiere on July 1st in the "Suidora Eleven" programming block across Kansai TV and affiliated Fuji TV channels.
Starring in the adaptation are You Yokoyama as police detective Shiro Isogai and Nagisa Sekimizu as Kuroi Hinata, a young woman with a purported "sixth sense" who acts as an informant. The story follows the unlikely partnership between Isogai, a dedicated detective driven by personal reasons, and Hinata, as they hunt down serial killers.
Hidetaka Sakamoto, Hiroki Inoue, and Toshimitsu Iizuka are directing the project, with scripts penned by Norikatsu Kodama and Kōta Edatsune. Licaxxx is handling the music composition.
The manga, launched by Iguchi and Nakamura in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in June 2024, is being released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. The series' fourth compiled volume was released in Japan on March 6th, with the second English volume slated for August 18th. Source: Anime News Network
