A second season of the Tongari Boushi no Atelier (Witch Hat Atelier) anime is officially in production. The fantasy series, adapted from Kamome Shirahama's popular manga, will continue its animated journey with animation once again handled by BUG FILMS.
The first season of Tongari Boushi no Atelier concluded its 13-episode run in Spring 2026, simulcasting internationally on Crunchyroll and Netflix. The anime adaptation has garnered significant attention, contributing to the manga's impressive circulation of over 9 million copies. The series also holds a strong critical reception, boasting an 8.73 rating on MyAnimeList from approximately 18,000 voters.
Kamome Shirahama's original manga began serialization in 2016 and has since expanded with a spin-off, Tongari Boushi no Kitchen. Kodansha USA has licensed both series for English publication. The manga has also received accolades, including nominations for the Kodansha Manga Awards and inclusion in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings.
The story follows Coco, a young girl fascinated by magic who discovers her favorite picture book is a spellbook. After an accident, she is taken in by the witch Qifrey to train, potentially aiding him in tracking down a dangerous group known as the Brimmed Caps.
