During their industry panel at Anime NYC on Friday, Tokyopop unveiled a fresh wave of seven manga licenses slated for a 2027 launch. The publisher’s latest acquisition list aims to diversify their catalog, with the announcement led by the supernatural drama Garagarapon.

Garagarapon is a collaborative effort featuring a story by Yōsuke Takahashi and art by Mimori. The narrative explores a premise where human imagination manifests into physical reality. The story follows two government officials, Daichi Hongou and Hisui Tenma, who are tasked with mediating the dangerous friction between the real world and the chaotic, intrusive objects spawned from daydreams and idle thoughts.

While the publisher focused heavily on the reveal of Garagarapon, the remaining six titles in the licensing haul are expected to be rolled out as part of their 2027 publication schedule. The announcement signals a continued effort by the company to bolster their domestic library with genre-bending titles that bridge the gap between fantasy and administrative procedural.
