The long-running light novel series Tokyo Ravens is approaching its conclusion. In the afterword of the 17th volume, which hit shelves on March 19, author Kōhei Azano revealed plans to wrap up the story in the subsequent release. It has since been confirmed that the 18th volume will serve as the final entry in the saga, with a publication window set for winter 2026.
Since its debut in 2010, the series has explored the life of Harutora, a boy born into a prestigious family of onmyōdō practitioners who initially lacks the ability to perceive spirit energy. His life takes a dramatic turn following a reunion with his childhood friend, Natsume, the heir to the Tsuchimikado family. The novels, illustrated by Sumihei, have spawned a significant multimedia footprint, including a 24-episode anime adaptation produced in 2013 and numerous manga spin-offs such as Tokyo Fox and Sword of Song.
While the light novels are nearing their end, the franchise remains a notable entry in the supernatural school fantasy genre. The 2013 anime adaptation currently holds a 74/100 score on AniList, reflecting its enduring presence among viewers more than a decade after its initial broadcast. With the final volume arriving in 2026, the series will have spanned over 15 years of publication.
