Tokyo MX has removed Hiroshi Date from his roles as Representative Director and Chairman, effective immediately following an extraordinary board meeting. The decision comes after an internal investigation, initiated by a report last December, confirmed Date engaged in power harassment, including inappropriate conduct and remarks directed at subordinates.
Date subsequently submitted his resignation as Director on Thursday, which the company has accepted, making his departure official on April 30. Tokyo MX has stated it is actively considering stringent disciplinary actions to address management accountability and is developing new measures to prevent future occurrences of harassment.
Tokyo MX is a prominent broadcaster known for airing a variety of anime titles. Current programming includes Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk, Hokuto no Ken -Fist of the North Star-, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, and The Drops of God, among others.
