The Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) has officially ceased operations. Following its final iteration held from March 13 to 16, 2026, organizers confirmed that the festival has concluded its run. The event, which originated in 2014 as a successor to the Tokyo International Anime Fair's award program, served as a significant fixture in the industry for over a decade.
As part of the wind-down process, the festival’s digital presence is being dismantled. Both the official X account and the TAAF YouTube channel are scheduled to go offline on September 30. On that same date, the official website will be converted into a static archive, preserving the history of the awards rather than serving as an active portal for future events.
TAAF 2026 concluded by recognizing several major industry contributors. Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX secured the award for the television category, while Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle - Akaza Sairai took the prize for the animated film category. Additionally, musician Kenshi Yonezu was honored with the Best Sound/Performance award for his contributions to several high-profile projects, including the Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and Medalist.
