The upcoming anime adaptation of Toaru Anbu no Item has finalized its production team and confirmed a mid-October broadcast window. The series, which expands the A Certain franchise, will debut on October 9 via AT-X, with subsequent airings on Tokyo MX and BS11 starting October 10. A new key visual accompanied the announcement, highlighting the core cast of the dark-side-focused spin-off.
Director Tatsuyuki Nagai is spearheading the project at J.C.Staff, reuniting with character designer Shigeki Kimoto. The newly unveiled staff roster includes series composer Shougo Yasukawa, known for his work on Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, and sound director Jin Aketagawa. The musical landscape of the show features Maiko Iuchi on score duties, with East Of Eden performing the opening track, "Ghost Sequence," and Kisida Kyodan & The Akebosi Rockets providing the ending theme, "Meltdowner."
This series adapts the light novel spin-off penned by Kazuma Kamachi, which began publication in early 2023. With the seventh volume of the source material arriving on the same day as the anime's premiere, the project maintains a tight release schedule alongside the ongoing manga adaptation by strelka. As a significant entry in the broader A Certain universe, the showโs reliance on veteran staff who have previously contributed to the franchise's visual and auditory identity suggests a clear effort to maintain continuity for long-time viewers.
