The production team for To You in the Beyond, the feature-length adaptation of Akiko Abe’s novel, has debuted a full-length trailer. The video offers a deeper look at the film's mysterious atmosphere while previewing the official theme song, "Olive," performed by musician Tota. Alongside the visual update, the film’s website confirmed the addition of four new cast members to the project.

Joining the ensemble are Sumire Uesaka as the honors student Tamaki Mishima, Wataru Hatano as the sincere Shōji Aiba, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Kazuki’s friend Akimitsu Yamu, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as the competitive Yoshiki Suga. These actors join a previously announced lineup that includes Hiiro Ishibashi as the protagonist Kazuki Tsukigase and Anna Nagase as the enigmatic Nao.

Directed by Junichi Wada of HIGH CARD fame, the film is being produced at TMS Entertainment with a screenplay penned by Sayaka Kuwamura, known for her work on Josee, the Tiger and the Fish. The story follows Kazuki, who moves to a remote island to escape his past, only to discover a mysterious girl who claims to be from 1974.

To You in the Beyond is set to open in Japanese theaters on October 9. While international distribution plans have yet to be finalized, Shochiku and Pony Canyon have indicated that further details regarding a global release will follow.
