Naohito Fujiki has been added to the voice cast for the upcoming anime film To You in the Beyond. He will portray Nishina, the homeroom teacher who looks after the protagonist, Kazuki Tsukigase.
The film adapts Akiko Abe's novel, which follows Kazuki as he transfers to a remote island high school to escape his past. His new life takes a mysterious turn when he discovers an inlet rumored to make people disappear and finds an unconscious girl named Nao.
Previously announced cast members include Hiiro Ishibashi as Kazuki Tsukigase, Anna Nagase as the enigmatic Nao Akishika, Simba Tsuchiya as Kazuki's classmate Mikiya Ozaki, and Hiroshi Tamaki as Kōzu, a character central to the story. The film is directed by Junichi Wada at TMS Entertainment, with Sayaka Kuwamura handling the screenplay. Hechima is the character designer and chief animation director.
To You in the Beyond is slated for release in Japanese theaters on October 9. International release details are expected to be announced later. The original novel was published in October 2017, and a manga adaptation by Haruka Chino launched in August 2025.
