Titan Manga has confirmed that its English 3-in-1 omnibus edition of Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem is scheduled to hit shelves on January 26, 2027. The publisher also debuted the cover art for this collection, which chronicles the rise of Hijikata Toshizou and the formation of the infamous Mibu Wolves during the twilight of the Tokugawa shogunate.
Written by Shinya Umemura and illustrated by Eiji Hashimoto, the series originally debuted in 2010 within the pages of Monthly Comic Zenon. The main narrative concluded in April 2023 after reaching its final arc in the 32nd volume. While the print edition offers a new way to experience the saga, readers can already access the title digitally through the Mangamo platform under the localized title The Shinsen-gumi.
The franchise has seen significant expansion beyond its source material over the years. This includes a 2017 stage play, a live-action television adaptation that aired on TBS, and a comedy spin-off titled Chiruran Nibun no Ichi. The latter received a short-form anime adaptation in 2017, which was previously available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
With the main manga series having concluded its run, the upcoming omnibus serves as a definitive collection for those looking to follow the Shinsengumi's historical dramatization. Given that Hashimoto teased the possibility of new content earlier this year, it remains to be seen if this omnibus will include any previously uncollected material or if the creator's hints point toward a separate project.
