The television anime adaptation of Yuuki Ikeda's Thunder 3 manga has unveiled its main production staff, a slate of additional cast members, and its first promotional video. The series began airing on July 9th on Fuji TV's +Ultra block and other networks.
Leading the production are Chief Director Hiroyuki Seshita (Ajin) and Director Keisuke Ide (Levius). The series composition and scripts are handled by Hiroshi Seko (Gachiakuta), with original character designs by Naoyuki Onda (Dandadan) and animation character designs by Junko Yamanaka (Kono Oto Tomare!) and Yuuki Moriyama (Sidonia no Kishi). The animation is produced by Studio Unend, with Slow Curve handling planning and production.
New cast additions include Shougo Sakata as Doku, Taito Ban as Teichi Segami, and Ryouko Maekawa as Mio Kisaragi. They join previously announced cast members. Singer-songwriter Yuuri is providing the opening theme song "Thunderbolt," featured in the new promotional video, and otoha performs the ending theme "Sharurerira."
The Thunder 3 manga, a supernatural mystery, began serialization in Monthly Shounen Magazine in May 2022. Kodansha USA licensed the manga for English release under its Vertical Comics imprint in March 2024. The eighth volume of the manga was released in January 2025.
