The television anime adaptation of Yuki Ikeda's Thunder 3 manga has released its main promotional video and a new key visual, confirming additional cast members for the series. The new video offers a glimpse at the characters involved in the rebellion and features the opening theme song "Thunderbolt" by singer-songwriter Yuri.

The latest cast additions include Taito Ban as karate expert Teiichi Segami, Yūki Hirose as Segami's former classmate Shizuka Tashiro, Ryōko Maekawa as Mio Kisaragi, and Haruki Ishiya as rebellion member Kyōji Sumeragi. Further cast members for the rebellion include Yūki Onodera as Yutaka Yamamoto, Yūki Shin as Sameyama, and Miho Wataya as Sydney.

Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English, describing the plot as a sci-fi adventure where three schoolboys must rescue a kidnapped sister from a parallel universe overrun by aliens, discovering their ordinary bodies grant them superpowers in that dimension. The anime stars Sayumi Suzushiro as Pyontarō, Natsumi Kawaida as Tsubame, Eri Akiyama as Hiroshi, and Honoka Mitsubachi as Futaba.

Directed by Hiroyuki Seshita with series scripts overseen by Hiroshi Seko, Thunder 3 premiered on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block on July 8, with a simultaneous worldwide exclusive stream on Netflix. The manga, which launched in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in May 2022, concluded its run on June 5, 2026, after a hiatus for the author's health. The final compiled volume is slated for release on July 16.
