Kaiko Fuyumushi, best known for the psychological drama There, Beneath the Water, has returned with a brand-new series titled Kagami yo Kagami yo. The manga premiered on July 3 via GOTcorporation’s Comic MeDu digital platform.

The narrative follows Hina, a young woman whose upbringing was strictly curated by her mother to mirror that of a "princess." As Hina begins her university studies—attending the same institution her mother once did—she experiences a jarring culture shock. Confronted with peers who possess vastly different worldviews and life experiences, Hina begins to question the sheltered reality she was raised in.

The plot takes a pivotal turn when Hina crosses paths with Asuka, a classmate surrounded by rumors regarding extensive plastic surgery. This interaction serves as the catalyst for Hina’s personal evolution, promising to reshape her future as she navigates the complexities of her own identity.

Fuyumushi’s previous title, There, Beneath the Water, concluded its run in 2023 after being serialized on Futabasha’s Web Action. While that series wrapped up its three-volume run in Japan last August, international readers can look forward to the English-language debut of the first volume, which is scheduled for release by Tokyopop on October 27.
