The television anime adaptation of Tōwa's The World's Strongest Rearguard - Labyrinth Country's Novice Seeker light novel series has set its premiere date for July 5. A new visual for the series was unveiled alongside the announcement.
The anime will broadcast on Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m. JST, with subsequent airings on BS11 and Sun TV. The cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as the protagonist Arihito, Aoi Koga as Theresia, Sakura Nakamura as Kyōka, Yui Ishikawa as Elitia, Saori Hayami as Suzuna, Kaede Hondo as Misaki, Kanon Takao as Madoka, and Yuka Aisaka as Melissa.
Yūji Yanase is directing the series at Maho Film, with Deko Akao handling scripts and Eriko Yanagimoto serving as the chief character designer. The story follows Arihito Atobe, a corporate slave who, after a fatal accident, is reborn into a fantasy world. He takes on the rearguard job class, providing support for his all-female party while finding his companions growing fond of him.
The light novel series, which began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in April 2017, is also adapted into a manga by Rikizo, which started serialization in March 2018. Both the light novels and manga are published in English by Yen Press.
