Shochiku has confirmed that voice actor Nobunaga Shimazaki has joined the cast of the television anime adaptation of The World Is Dancing. Shimazaki will provide the voice for the protagonist, Oniyasha, during his young adult years. The character made a brief appearance at the conclusion of the series' 10th episode and is set to play a larger role in the upcoming 11th episode.

Set against the backdrop of the 14th-century Northern and Southern Courts conflict, the series follows Oniyasha, a performer born into a sarugaku theater family. The narrative explores his journey toward defining the art of Noh, inspired by the historical figure Zeami. The anime adaptation, which premiered on July 2, is currently available to viewers on HIDIVE and Amazon Prime Video, with an English dub also provided by HIDIVE.

The series is based on the manga by Kazuto Mihara, which ran in Kodansha's Morning magazine from 2021 to 2022. While the original manga concluded with six volumes, the anime continues to draw attention for its historical premise and focus on traditional performance arts. With the series nearing its conclusion, the introduction of an adult Oniyasha signals a transition into the final phase of the protagonist's development.
