The production committee for The Vermilion Mask has confirmed that the anime’s second part is scheduled to arrive in April 2027. The series, which follows the journey of apprentice mask maker Peru as he seeks redemption for a tragic, curse-induced outburst, will maintain its Saturday 5:30 p.m. JST broadcast slot on Yomiuri TV and NTV.
The announcement comes just ahead of the series' initial premiere on October 10. The first part of the adaptation is slated for 12 episodes, with the finale set to feature a guest voice appearance by T.N.T vocalist Yuya Tegoshi. Crunchyroll continues to hold the international streaming rights for the series as it airs in Japan.
Directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe, known for his work on BLUELOCK, the production team at 100Studio includes series composer Daisuke Ōhigashi and character designer Hisashi Higashijima. The series is based on the ongoing manga by Dr.Poro and Nabana Naba, which has been serialized in Young King Ours since 2021. With the 10th volume of the source material arriving in late November, the production has a substantial foundation to draw from for this two-part run.
