The production committee for The Vermilion Mask announced that rock vocalist Yuya Tegoshi will join the series as a guest voice actor. Tegoshi, the frontman for the band T.N.T, is slated to appear in the 12th episode, which marks the conclusion of the anime's first cour. In addition to his voice role, Tegoshi and his band are actively involved in the series' promotion, including a special program scheduled for October 7 and a synchronized watch party for the second episode on October 17.

Directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe, known for his work on the first season of BLUELOCK, the series is animated by 100Studio. The production team features a notable lineup of industry veterans, including series composer Daisuke ลŒhigashi and composer Arisa Okehazama, who previously scored The Apothecary Diaries. The story follows Peru, an apprentice mask maker forced into a journey of redemption after a cursed mask leads him to commit a tragic crime against his master and peers.

The Vermilion Mask is set to begin its broadcast run on October 10, with Crunchyroll confirmed to stream the series as it airs. While the anime is currently scheduled for two cours, the specific narrative arc covered in the first half remains a point of interest for fans of the original manga by Dr.Poro and Nabana Naba, which has been serialized in Young King Ours since 2021. With the series split into two parts, it remains to be seen how the production will balance the pacing of the manga's nine existing volumes across the full broadcast schedule.
