The streaming platform OceanVeil has announced that the English dub for The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring will debut on October 4. The production features Jordan Woollen as the protagonist Satoru Takahashi and Leah Booth as the titular snow woman, Mifuyu Yukino, with CottontailVA rounding out the main cast as Kaede Kiryūin. The dub is overseen by ADR Director Kevin Frane.
This adaptation of Puuzaki Puuna's adult dōjin manga is notable for its direct transition to television, a rarity for the genre which typically sees such titles relegated to OVA formats. According to the creator, the anime series will diverge from the original manga by featuring an entirely original storyline. The production is helmed by director Kazuomi Koga at Studio Hōkiboshi, with the opening theme "Choux Cream" performed by Hitomi Suzune.
While the series began its initial streaming run on AnimeFesta and OceanVeil in mid-September, the English dub launch coincides with the show's terrestrial television premiere in Japan on BS11. The original manga, which spans two volumes, is available in English through Irodori Comics for those looking to explore the source material's premise of a landlord wielding a ring to control supernatural tenants.
