The Ramparts of Ice (Koori no Jyōheki) is officially returning to screens this fall. The production committee confirmed that the second season of the adaptation, based on Kōcha Agasawa’s acclaimed manga, will debut on October 1. Alongside the date, a new promotional video and key visual were released to tease the continuation of the story.
Following the broadcast pattern of the first season, the series will air on Thursdays at 11:56 p.m. on TBS and its 27 affiliate channels. International viewers can catch the episodes on Netflix, which will again handle global streaming for the series. The new trailer highlights the evolving dynamics between the four leads: the guarded Koyuki Hikawa, the persistent Minato Amamiya, the popular Miki Azumi, and the easygoing Yōta Hino.
Studio KAI remains at the helm of production, with Mankyū returning to direct. The series composition is once again handled by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, known for his work on Kaguya-sama: Love is War. The musical identity of the season is set with Novelbright providing the opening theme, "Tōmei," and Polkadot Stingray performing the ending theme, "Sakasama."
Agasawa’s source material, which concluded in early 2025, has been a critical darling, earning a nomination for the 69th Shogakukan Manga Awards and placing high in the 2023 "Most Wanted Anime Adaptation" poll. With the second season picking up the narrative threads from the April 2024 debut, the show continues to explore the complex emotional walls built by its adolescent cast.
