The production team for The Ramparts of Ice has announced the musical lineup for its highly anticipated second season. The four-piece band THE BEAT GARDEN will provide the opening theme, titled "Escort," while the ending theme, "Hanakage," will be performed by Superfly. This musical update arrives just ahead of the season's October 1 premiere, which will maintain its Thursday night broadcast slot on TBS and its affiliated channels.

Studio KAI returns to helm the production, with Mankyū continuing in the director's chair and Yasuhiro Nakanishi overseeing the series scripts. The series, which adapts Kōcha Agasawa’s completed webtoon, follows the interpersonal struggles of four high school students, led by the emotionally guarded Koyuki Hikawa, voiced by Anna Nagase. The returning cast also features Shōya Chiba as Minato Amamiya and Fūka Izumi as Miki Azumi.

While the first season established the series' presence on Netflix, the source material holds a strong reputation among readers, having placed second in the "Vertical Scroll Comic" category at the 2024 Rakuten Kobo E-book Awards. With the manga concluded as of February 2025, the anime adaptation now has a clear path to complete the story of these four complicated characters. Given the series' history as a fan-voted favorite for adaptation on AnimeJapan's 2023 polls, the transition into this second season remains a key point of interest for those following the adaptation's pacing.
