The television anime adaptation of Kōcha Agasawa's The Ramparts of Ice manga is set to return for a second season. The announcement was made following the broadcast of the first season's 14th and final episode on July 2nd, confirming that the new season will premiere on October 1st.

Fans can expect the new episodes to air in the same Thursday 11:56 p.m. timeslot on TBS and its affiliate stations in Japan. The first season, which debuted on April 2nd, covered the initial arcs of the manga focusing on the aloof high school student Koyuki Hikawa and her interactions with Minato Amemiya, alongside their friends Miki and Yōta.

The series, animated by Studio KAI with Mankyū directing, features a returning cast including Anna Nagase as Koyuki Hikawa and Shōya Chiba as Minato Amemiya. The production staff also remains largely the same, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi handling series scripts and Miki Ogino designing the characters.

The Ramparts of Ice manga originally ran on the LINE Manga app from January 2020 to April 2022, and its compiled volumes have garnered critical attention, including a nomination for the Shogakukan Manga Awards and a high ranking on AnimeJapan's "Most Wanted Anime Adaptation" poll. The first season became available globally on Netflix shortly after its Japanese premiere.
