The upcoming television anime adaptation of Kureha's The Ogre's Bride light novel series has revealed three additional cast members through a newly released trailer. Taito Ban will voice Takamichi Araki, Nobunaga Shimazaki is cast as Ouga Kiyama, and Aya Endō will portray Sakurako Kiyama.
The fantasy romance anime is set to premiere in July 2026. The story takes place in a world where humans and demons coexist. It follows Yuzu, an ordinary high school girl who has a life-altering encounter with a powerful ogre who claims her as his bride. The previously announced cast includes Saori Hayami as Yuzu Shinonome and Yūichirō Umehara as Reiya Kiryuin.
Kazuhito Ōmiya is directing the series at Colored Pencil Animation Japan, with Yumi Kamakura handling series scripts. Music composition is by Masaru Yokoyama. The original light novel series began in 2019 and has since spawned a manga adaptation by Jun Togashi, which launched in 2021. Together, the novel and manga have achieved over 5.8 million copies in circulation.
A live-action film adaptation of The Ogre's Bride also opened in Japan on March 27th, drawing significant attention to the franchise.
