The Ogre's Bride (Oni no Hanayome) has introduced two pivotal figures to its ensemble cast. During the series' fourth episode, which aired this past Saturday, viewers were introduced to the parents of the protagonist Reiya Kiryuin, voiced by industry veterans Akira Ishida and Misato Fukuen.

Ishida, known for his prolific work across the industry, steps into the role of Senya Kiryūin, while Fukuen portrays his wife, Sara Kiryūin. Their arrival adds significant weight to the unfolding drama of the series, which follows Yuzu Shinonome, an ordinary high schooler thrust into an unexpected engagement with a powerful ogre.

Directed by Kazuhito Ōmiya at Colored Pencil Animation Japan, the anime adaptation of Kureha’s light novel series has been a consistent presence this season. The show is currently available to international viewers via Crunchyroll, with a robust production staff that includes series composer Yumi Kamakura and character designer Hikari Tanaka.

The franchise continues to thrive, with the original light novel series reaching its 10th volume late last year and a popular manga adaptation by Jun Togashi currently being localized by MangaPlaza. With over 5.8 million copies in circulation across both formats, the series also saw a successful live-action film adaptation earlier this year.
