Genius Sonority has announced that its free-to-play title The New Denpa Men (known in Japan as New Denpa Ningen no RPG FREE) will conclude its service on December 7. The development team stated that the decision was reached after determining that maintaining the game to a standard that meets player expectations had become difficult.
In preparation for the shutdown, the developer has already suspended the sale of Jewels and other paid in-game items as of this week. Players with remaining balances of unused currency should monitor the game's official website, where the studio plans to publish specific instructions regarding the refund process following the final service date.
The New Denpa Men originally debuted as a Nintendo Switch exclusive in July 2024 before expanding to iOS and Android platforms. The franchise, which tasks players with using cameras to capture "Denpa Men" in their physical surroundings to form adventuring parties, has a long history dating back to the Nintendo 3DS era. While the series saw multiple Western releases under the title The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave, this latest iteration marks the end of a significant chapter for the long-running RPG series.
