Nintendo has announced an overview trailer for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo Switch 2, confirming a November 5 release date. The remake introduces several gameplay updates, including traditional camera controls, a dedicated jump button, and a roll dash action. A new 'Hall of Fallen Foes' area allows players to view statues of defeated enemies and initiate boss rematches. Additional quality-of-life improvements include the 'Threads of Time' menu for tracking objectives and the ability to play in-game music by humming into the console's microphone.
The title features cross-platform integration with the Nintendo Switch App, allowing players to track progress via 'Today's Record,' participate in 'Gossip Quests' for rewards, and access an 'Ocarina of Time Quiz.' Furthermore, the game supports shared currency between the app and the console. To commemorate the franchise, a 40th Anniversary Edition of the Switch 2 console, along with a themed Pro Controller and carrying case, will be available on October 29. New Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo, which unlock in-game masks, are slated for a 2027 release. Separately, the franchise's upcoming live-action film has been rescheduled to open on April 30, 2027.
