The television anime adaptation of Asa Rokushima's light novel series, The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a New Life (also known as Chi-Fuyo), has unveiled its first teaser promotional video and a new visual. These assets confirm the anime's main cast, key staff, and an October premiere window.

Leading the cast is Daiki Yamashita as Rein Garland, the titular mage expelled from his guild for over-enhancing all their equipment. He is joined by Lynn as Lily Flumbell, Yoshino Aoyama as Margaret Else, Miyu Tomita as Mirabell, Megumi Han as Elsy Zora, Konomi Kohara as Nina, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Hanbun, Makoto Furukawa as Cornelius, and Rie Shibata as Assassin Mom.

The anime is being produced by P.A. Works, with Shū Honma directing. Yōko Yonaiyama is responsible for the series scripts, while Tadahito Kiyosawa handles character designs and serves as chief animation director alongside sub-character designer Masami Gohda. The series is set to broadcast on TV Tokyo and its affiliates starting in October.

The story centers on Rein, an enchanter whose immense skill leads to his dismissal from his guild. Outraged, he channels his mana into a simple copper sword, transforming it into an absurdly powerful weapon. With no combat experience but possessing potent enhancement magic, Rein embarks on a new, carefree life as an adventurer. The original light novels began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in January 2021, with manga and print adaptations following.
