The production team for The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a New Life (Tsuihō Sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimamana Second Life o Ōka Suru) has released a new action-focused promotional video. The footage provides a glimpse into the series' combat sequences while simultaneously confirming a wide array of production staff members joining the project.
Key technical additions to the crew include music composer Arisa Okehazama, sound director Ryōsuke Naya, and chief animation director Min Ji Yu. They join the previously announced core team at P.A. Works, which includes director Shū Honma and series scriptwriter Yōko Yonaiyama. The production also features monster and action animation direction by Nobuhiko Sugimitsu, ensuring the series' magical gear enhancements translate into high-stakes visual flair.
Based on the light novel series by Asa Rokushima, the anime follows Rein, an enchanter who finds himself ousted from his guild only to realize his true potential when he reclaims his mana. The story takes a turn for the overpowered when he inadvertently creates a legendary weapon from a basic copper sword, setting the stage for his new life as an adventurer. The series is slated to begin its broadcast run this October on TV Tokyo and its affiliated channels.
