The television adaptation of The Kept Man of the Princess Knight is officially set to hit screens in January 2027. During the Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten Online 2026 event, producers unveiled the first major promotional video, which highlights the series' high-stakes dungeon setting and provides a first listen to the opening theme, "True-Taboo," performed by MYTH & ROID. The ending theme, "Gika," will be performed by sajou no hana.
Alongside the trailer, the production team introduced three additional cast members: Rie Takahashi will voice Vanessa, Tetsu Inada takes on the role of Dezu, and Rika Nagae joins as April. These actors join the previously confirmed leads, Junichi Suwabe and Mikako Komatsu, who portray the central duo of Matthew and Arwin. A new key visual was also released to accompany the update.
Studio BLADE is handling the animation, with Chihiro Kumano directing the series. The project features a veteran production staff, including series composition by Deko Akao and character designs by Hisao Ishii, who is adapting the original light novel illustrations by Saki Mashima. The series is based on Toru Shiroganeβs award-winning light novel, which has surpassed 200,000 copies in circulation and is currently available in English via Yen Press.
