Filmmakers are releasing special MoviTicke Cards featuring exclusive artwork for the upcoming 4K revival screenings of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. The illustration, created by animation director Hiroyuki Aoyama, imagines a "what if" scenario where lead characters Makoto Konno and Kōsuke Tsuda attend a summer festival and fireworks display together.
The MoviTicke Cards will be available for purchase starting June 19. The film itself is set to return to 166 theaters across Japan on July 3, with tickets priced at 1,700 yen for adults and 1,000 yen for students. This revival celebrates the beloved 2006 science-fiction drama, which holds an impressive 8.09 score on MyAnimeList from over 476,000 voters and was animated by Madhouse.
In addition to the standard screenings, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time will also receive a limited two-week engagement in 51 theaters equipped with 4DX screening rooms, starting August 21. These immersive showings will carry the same ticket prices as the standard screenings, plus the additional 4DX fee.
