The upcoming Ghost in the Shell television anime series from Science SARU has set its premiere date for July 7. Bandai Namco Filmworks revealed the date alongside a third promotional video and a suite of new staff members and character designs.
The series will air on the "Ka-Anival!!" anime block on Kansai TV and Fuji TV, broadcasting on Tuesday nights at 11:00 p.m. Prior to its broadcast debut, the anime will have its global premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June, where the first two episodes will be shown. Amazon Prime Video is set to stream the series worldwide, with the exception of Russia and China, and will also offer an early exclusive run in Japan.
Directed by Mokochan, marking his directorial debut at Science SARU, and with Toh Enjoe handling scriptwriting and series supervision, the anime boasts a notable creative team. Shūhei Handa is responsible for character designs and serves as chief animation director. Music composition is handled by Taisei Iwasaki, Ryō Konishi, and Yuki Kanesaka.
Additional staff revealed include Emi Katanosaka as Art Director, Osamu Masuyama for Art Supervision, Satoshi Hashimoto for Color Design, Hikari Itō as Director of Photography, Kiyoshi Hirose as Editor, and Yuji Tange as Sound Director. The production committee includes Bandai Namco Filmworks, Kodansha, Science SARU, and Production I.G. The third promotional video also showcases character designs for Makoto Kusanagi, Batou, Togusa, Ishikawa, Saito, Boma, Pazu, and the Fuchikoma.
