The television anime adaptation of Fuurou's The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects light novel series has set its premiere date for July 10. A second promotional video released today showcases the anime's opening theme and announces the artists for both the opening and ending songs. Japanese-Korean pop-rock band CROWN HEAD will perform the opening track "Wonder," while Kaya is set to perform the ending theme "Hoshi Furu Yoru no Yakusoku."
The series will debut on Tokyo MX on July 10 at 10:30 p.m., followed by broadcasts on MBS, BS Asahi, and AT-X throughout the week. The newly revealed cast includes Rikuya Yasuda as Francis, Maria Abo as Francois, Kujira as Mole, Yōko Hikasa as Diane, and Nao Tōyama as Eima. These additions join the previously announced main cast: Kenichirō Matsuda as Dias and Shion Wakayama as Alna.
Directed by Kenichi Imaizumi, known for his work on Kingdom seasons 3-6, the anime is being produced by studio42. Kunihiko Okada is handling series scripts, with character designs by Keiichi Tsuboyama. The story follows Dias, a war hero rewarded with an undeveloped domain. Facing the challenge of building a prosperous territory from scratch with zero inhabitants, Dias finds unexpected help from a horned girl named Alna. J-Novel Club publishes the light novel and its manga adaptation in English, noting the franchise has over two million copies in circulation.
