The first season of The Faraway Paladin is now available to stream on Crunchyroll, complete with English dub and subtitle options. The series adapts Kanata Yanagino's fantasy light novel, following Will, a human child raised in a desolate land by a trio of undead heroes: a skeletal warrior, a ghostly priest, and a vampire sorceress.
Children's Playground Entertainment produced the series, which dives into themes of found family and the afterlife as Will grapples with his unique upbringing and the gods who watch over him. It earned a 7.73 rating on MyAnimeList, praised for its mature storytelling and compelling character development within the often-tropey isekai genre.
With its 12 episodes now fully streamed, viewers can experience Will's coming-of-age journey from his idyllic, if unconventional, childhood to confronting the harsh realities of the wider world. A second season, The Faraway Paladin: The Lord of the Rust Mountains, is also slated for release.
