Kadokawa has officially pulled back the curtain on the television anime adaptation of The Fake Alchemist (Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi), releasing a teaser trailer that introduces the series' core cast and creative team. The project is currently in production at studio Passione, with Takeo Takahashi attached as chief director and Hijiri Sanpei serving as director.

The voice cast features Yōhei Matsuoka in the lead role of Paracelsus, joined by Miyari Nemoto as the shaman Nora. The production team also includes Kenta Ihara, who is overseeing series composition, and character designer Yuka Takashina. The musical score is being composed by Luke Standridge.

Based on the manga by Jirō Sugiura and Umemaru, the story follows a reincarnated protagonist who attempts to live a quiet life as an alchemist while concealing his powerful abilities. The narrative shifts from a small-scale workshop rescue mission into a grand conflict involving gods and sorcery after he encounters Nora and an elf named Coco.

The original manga, which launched on Kadokawa's KadoComi site in 2023, has already surpassed 1 million copies in circulation. While Yen Press is currently handling the English print release, fans of Sugiura’s work may recognize the author from My Wife Has No Emotion, which also received an anime adaptation in 2024. With the core staff now confirmed, the primary question remains the project's premiere window, which has yet to be announced.
