The hitman-turned-civilian saga The Fable is officially heading back to television. A newly released teaser trailer confirms that the second season is slated for a January 2027 premiere, continuing the adaptation of Katsuhisa Minami’s acclaimed manga series.
Production remains in steady hands, with Ryōsuke Takahashi returning to direct at Tezuka Productions. The core creative team is largely intact, featuring series composition by Yūya Takashima and script contributions from Mayumi Morita. While character designers Kyūma Ōshita and Saki Hasegawa are also returning, the production has brought on Yo Tsuji to handle the music for the new season. The extensive voice cast, led by Kazuyuki Okitsu as Akira Satō and Miyuki Sawashiro as Yōko Satō, is also set to reprise their roles.
The first season, which debuted in April 2024, spanned two continuous cours and is currently available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. Beyond the screen, the franchise remains active; the original manga concluded in 2019, but the story has continued through The Second Contact and the more recent The Third Secret manga series. With the anime now moving into its second season, the production appears to be maintaining the momentum established by its initial run.
