The second season of The Elusive Samurai anime is set to premiere on July 13, with a new promotional video released today revealing the opening theme song, cast, and staff. The trailer showcases "Onigoto" by Kento Nakajima, which will serve as the season's opening track. The series will air on Fuji TV and AT-X, with Prime Video handling streaming duties.

Returning to voice the lead roles are Asaki Yuikawa as Hojo Tokiyuki and Yūichi Nakamura as Suwa Yorishige. The expanded cast also includes Hinaki Yano as Shizuku, Mari Hino as Kojirō, Sayumi Suzushiro as Ayako, Aoi Yūki as Kazama Genba, and Kikunosuke Toya as Fubuki. The production continues at CloverWorks, with Yuta Yamazaki directing and Yasushi Nishiya returning as character designer and chief animation director.

Additional staff members contributing to the new season include Shinnosuke Ōta as animation director, GEMBI and Akiyuki Tateyama for music composition, Yoriko Tomita as series script supervisor, and Yūsuke Kawakami as assistant director. The animation team also features prop design by Yogoinu, color key artist Kazuko Nakashima, art director Ayumi Kojima, and compositing director of photography Yūya Sakuma.

The original manga by Yūsei Matsui, also known for Assassination Classroom, launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2021 and concluded in February 2024. The first anime season aired in July 2024, with Crunchyroll streaming it and an English dub. Viz Media and MANGA Plus are releasing the manga digitally in English, with Viz also handling print distribution. The manga earned an award at the 69th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2024.
