The mystery continues as The Detective Is Already Dead (Tantei wa Mō, Shindeiru.) prepares for its long-awaited second season. A newly released third promotional video confirms that the series will officially debut on October 7, following a previously announced delay from its original July window. The broadcast kicks off on Tokyo MX, with an early digital premiere scheduled for 10:00 p.m. on d Anime Store.

Alongside the release date, the production has introduced two new cast members joining the ensemble: Akari Komiyama will voice Mia Whitlock, and Nobuhiko Okamoto is set to play Scarlet. They join a returning core cast that includes Arata Nagai as Kimihiko Kimizuka and Saki Miyashita as Siesta. Behind the scenes, director Manabu Kurihara is back at the helm at studio ENGI, working once again with series scriptwriter Deko Akao and character designer Yōsuke Itō.

This second season arrives following the conclusion of the original manga adaptation in 2023 and the continued publication of the light novels, which reached their 13th volume in July 2025. While the first season established the series' globe-trotting mystery premise, the franchise has since expanded through various spin-offs, including the Code:RED novel series. With the premiere now locked for October, viewers can look forward to seeing how the legacy of Siesta continues to shape the narrative for Kimihiko and his associates.
