The promotional campaign for The Apothecary Diaries: The Late Lady's Treasure is ramping up with a new character trailer focusing on the Bi clan. The video confirms three new cast additions to the film: Nobuo Tobita as the clan head Birō, Kumiko Watanabe as his wife Shūu, and Hirofumi Nojima as their eldest son, Bisen. They join previously announced cast member Mariya Ise, who voices the pivotal character Mu Qing.

This film introduces an original narrative penned by series author Hyuganatsu, following Maomao and Jinshi as they journey to a concubine's hometown to return her remains. The plot promises a departure from the imperial harem setting, involving pirates and hidden treasures. TOHO animation has indicated that more character-focused videos are on the way, with spotlights for the Kaja Troupe, Ruo Qing, and Yi Shan arriving in the coming days.

While the film hits Japanese theaters on December 11, international fans will have to wait for a specific release date from Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The franchise remains highly active, with the third television season currently airing its first cour on NTV's "Friday Anime Night" block. A second cour for that season is already slated for an April 2027 premiere, underscoring the rapid expansion of the series across both film and television formats.
