The upcoming original anime Tetsuryō! meet with Tetsudō Musume is officially set to hit screens on October 8. The broadcast will kick off at midnight JST on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji, with HIDIVE securing the streaming rights for viewers in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. The production already held a world premiere screening earlier this summer at Anime NYC.
Adapted from the popular Tetsudō Musume (Railway Girls) franchise, the series follows four college students who make up the 'Tetsuryo' club. The narrative focuses on protagonist Misaki, a university student seeking passion and purpose, who finds her life transformed after being recruited into the club. As the group travels across the country, they encounter various Railway Girls in their professional environments, blending the 'Cute Girls Doing Cute Things' subgenre with the tranquil, observational tone of an iyashikei series.
The production features a notable creative team, with Misuzu Hoshino—known for her work on Laid-Back Camp and The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious—directing at East Fish Studio. The series composition is handled by Aya Satsuki, while character designs are provided by Hisanori Hashimoto. The project is a collaboration between TOMYTEC and novelist Kisetsu Morita, best known for I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level.
