Taku Kawamura's romantic comedy manga, Kawaii Kōhai ni Iwasaretai (I Want My Cute Underclassman to Tell Me), is set to conclude its serialization. The latest chapter, released on Thursday, announced that the manga will wrap up in two more installments. If the bi-weekly schedule remains uninterrupted, the final chapter is slated for release on May 14.
The series follows the relationship between upperclassman Yasu and his underclassman Moriyama. Initially seeking romantic advice about another girl, Yasu is subtly manipulated by Moriyama into confessing his feelings for her. The story explores their mutually affectionate dynamic, often characterized by Moriyama's assertive bargaining tactics.
Kawamura first started publishing Kawaii Kōhai ni Iwasaretai on their X/Twitter account in March 2018. It later moved to Akita Shoten's Champion Cross website for official serialization beginning in July 2019. Akita Shoten released the ninth compiled volume of the manga in December 2025.
This is not Kawamura's only recent work to conclude; their manga False Child finished its run in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker in March 2024. They also previously concluded the four-panel comedy spinoff Kakegurui (Kakkokari) in September 2022. Kawamura continues to serialize My Clueless First Friend, which received an anime adaptation in April 2023.
