The television adaptation of Hiro Yuuki’s Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku (20th Century Electricity Catalog) has added two new names to its roster. Sakiko Tamagawa, recognized for her role in Yomi no Tsugai, will voice Chiyo Ibata, while Yuu Miyazaki of Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi fame joins the production as Akira Ibata. This casting update coincides with the release of a new visual for the series' fourth episode.
Set in an alternate 20th century where Kyoto is defined by steam-powered industrialization, the narrative explores the intersection of two lives shaped by loss and hidden dreams. The series is directed by Minoru Oota at Kyoto Animation, featuring character designs by Kouhei Okamura and music by Hitomi Koto. The project is rooted in the original light novel, which gained recognition as an Honorable Mention recipient at the 8th Kyoto Animation Awards in 2017.
Following its July 5 premiere, the show is currently available for streaming on Netflix, with regional broadcasts continuing on Tokyo MX, BS11, ABC TV, and TV Aichi. While the anime serves as the primary adaptation of the light novel, the story also exists in manga format, further expanding the reach of this historical drama as it navigates the mystery behind the titular electrical catalog.
