Starbucks Japan has unveiled its first-ever collaboration with the Pokémon franchise, bringing a thematic menu and a wide array of branded goods to its Japanese storefronts. The campaign officially kicks off on September 30, headlined by the Pikachu Honey Cream Latté, which will retail for 690 yen.

The collaboration extends well beyond beverages, featuring a massive merchandise drop that includes tumblers—some featuring Pokéball-shaped lids—as well as mugs, bottles, drip coffee makers, kettles, and kitchen textiles like aprons. Fans can also purchase smaller accessories such as keychains, stickers, and tote bags, with prices for the collection spanning from 1,500 yen to 6,600 yen. While the launch date is set, the companies have not yet specified an end date for the promotion.

In a separate but concurrent celebration of the franchise, the retailer SGC is launching a gold-themed exhibition at Yokohama Takashimaya. Running from September 30 through October 5, the event features a life-sized golden Pikachu statue crafted from nearly 200 pieces of gold leaf. The exhibition also offers high-end collectibles, including 24K gold Gholdengo statuettes priced at 1,540,000 yen.

This partnership follows a string of recent food-related tie-ins for the franchise, including commemorative doughnuts at Krispy Kreme and specialized Spam sets for the Chuseok festival. Given the breadth of the merchandise line, it remains to be seen if these items will see a wider release or if they will remain exclusive to the Japanese market.
