Masahiro Anbe, the creator behind the popular Squid Girl series, is set to launch a new manga titled Badokon! The upcoming work will be a "girls' badminton comedy" and is scheduled to debut in the 34th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine on July 23rd.
Anbe's recent work, Cheeky Devil Cop!, concluded its run in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine in September 2025. Seven Seas Entertainment is slated to release the first compiled volume of this series in September 2026.
Prior to Cheeky Devil Cop!, Anbe serialized Assemble! Mystery Research Club in Weekly Shōnen Champion from 2016 until its conclusion in July 2024. His most well-known work, Squid Girl, ran in Weekly Shōnen Champion from 2007 to 2016 and spawned two television anime series adaptations in 2010 and 2011.
