Sankichi Hinodeya's Splatoon 3: Splatlands manga is currently on hiatus, as announced in the latest issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Coro Coro Comics. The magazine did not provide a reason for the break or indicate when new chapters will resume.
Viz Media handles the English release of the manga, which follows Goggles and a new inkling named Braid on adventures in the Splatlands. This is not the first pause for the series; it temporarily concluded in late 2021 before returning in September 2022 with content tied to the then-upcoming Splatoon 3 game.
The manga's publication history began with a one-shot in 2015, followed by serializations in various Coro Coro magazines starting in 2016. Shogakukan released the eighth compiled volume of Splatoon 3: Splatlands in late March, with Viz Media releasing the sixth volume around the same time.
Splatoon 3 itself launched in September 2022 to significant commercial success in Japan. While Nintendo announced in September 2024 that regular updates for the game would cease, a subsequent update was revealed for June 2025. Nintendo also announced a new spinoff, Splatoon Raiders, for the Nintendo Switch 2.
