Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 2 has officially arrived in Japanese theaters, marking the emotional conclusion to Kyoto Animation’s long-running concert band drama. To celebrate the film's September 11 premiere, the studio released a special video showcasing previously unseen footage, offering fans a glimpse at the series' final movement.

This two-part cinematic project brings the story of Kumiko Oumae and the Kitauji High School concert band to a close, following the narrative arc established in the 2024 third season. While the television series adapted Kumiko’s third year, this theatrical finale—directed by Taichi Ogawa with chief director Tatsuya Ishihara—promises new scenes and musical performances that were not included in the broadcast version. Screenwriter Jukki Hanada has crafted a script intended to serve as the definitive end to the decade-long journey.

The franchise has maintained a consistent presence in the medium since its 2015 debut, branching out from its manga source material into multiple seasons, compilation films, and spin-offs like Liz and the Blue Bird. While the series has been a staple of the school-life and music genres, the transition to this final two-part theatrical event represents the culmination of Kyoto Animation's decade of work on the property. With the final chapter now in theaters, the focus shifts to how this concluding performance will resonate with the series' long-term audience.
