Sega has pulled back the curtain on the second year of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, confirming a content-heavy roadmap that kicks off on November 3. The update introduces a new "Duel Mode" and a revamped Gadget System, alongside the addition of Bayonetta and Aigis as playable characters. Players can also look forward to new vehicle options, including the McLaren Racing and Butterfly Witch machines.
The developer is leaning heavily into high-profile collaborations throughout the upcoming year. Following a Godzilla-themed launch in November, the game will integrate content from the Evangelion franchise this January. The roadmap continues into 2027 with a Virtual Sanrio Puroland event in the second quarter, followed by a "Midgar Pack" featuring content from Final Fantasy VII Remake and a "Reload Revival Royal Pack" representing the Persona series later in the year.
In addition to the racing updates, Sega has set a November 12 debut for Sonic the Hedgehog: Memories and Beyond, a short film produced to commemorate the franchise's 35th anniversary. The project serves as a narrative expansion following the game's initial animation project, which first arrived in August 2024.
Since its multi-platform launch in September 2025, the title has established a pattern of aggressive cross-franchise integration, ranging from Like a Dragon to SpongeBob SquarePants. With the addition of these new partnerships, which collaboration are you most looking forward to seeing on the track?
